iPhone stuck in landscape mode

Some iPhone users found that the phone was blocked in landscape mode. This usually happened when they tried to use the camera in landscape mode. Users could not exit landscape mode after using the camera. The best way to fix it is to lock the orientation in portrait mode.

Solution 1: Lock Orientation in Portrait Mode

Swipe up from the bottom of the phone to bring up Control Center on the screen

You'll find a lock in the top right corner of the screen, tap the lock to make sure it's unlocked

Once the phone is in portrait mode, you can take pictures or videos in portrait mode without any problem.

Solution 2: Restart your phone

If your phone 5 is frozen in landscape mode and it does not allow any modification of the phone, restart your iPhone and check if the problem is solved.

iPhone 4S stuck in landscape mode
Some users have noticed that when they switch to landscape mode, it is difficult to return to portrait mode since the phone would be blocked in landscape mode. The workaround for this problem is that you can lock the phone in portrait mode so that it does not change its orientation even if it uses an application that forces it to go into landscape mode.
Solution 1: Toggle the orientation lock

iOS 6 or earlier:

Press the Home button twice to bring up the multitasking bar.
Scroll to the left and you will find the orientation lock
Press the lock to correct orientation in portrait mode, or if it is already on, your phone may be locked in landscape mode for this reason. Turn it off and check if your problem is resolved.
Bring the Control Center of your phone by dragging from the bottom of the phone
You will notice a lock in the upper right corner of the screen
Tap the lock icon to lock your iPhone 4S in portrait mode and if it's already locked in landscape mode, tap to lock it.
If this does not work or if you do not want to lock your device in portrait mode, remember to reset the device to the factory settings. This will solve the problem, but be sure to back up all important data and files before you start restoring your iPhone 4S.
Solution 2: Kill the application and restart it
Alternatively, there is a possibility that the problem lies in the application and not in your phone. Sometimes an application can be blocked or frozen, so just kill the application and launch it again.
Users with iOS 6 or older versions should display the multitasking bar by pressing the home button twice, then press the red (-) button next to the application to remove it.
In iOS 7 and later, you double-tap the Home button to see applications running in the background.

Swipe the application you want to kill.

Restart the application and you will find that the orientation problem has been resolved.
Solution 3: (iOS 7 and iOS 8 specific) Calibrate Compass
A number of iOS7 and iOS8 users have complained of being stuck in a particular orientation for a long time. It seems that calibrating the compass can solve the orientation problem and help you to use your phone in portrait and landscape mode without any problem.
